Objective:
We recently carried out a domestic asbestos management survey at a residential property in Harwich, Essex. The survey was requested by the property owner to identify any possible asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) within the home and to help them safely manage these materials going forward.
Survey Process:
Our highly experienced and qualified asbestos surveyors carried out a detailed, non-intrusive inspection and during the survey, samples were taken from suspected materials, these included:

- Floor Tiles and Adhesives
- Composite Materials

Laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of ACMs in several locations within the property, including:

Following the survey, the client was provided with a comprehensive asbestos report, which included:
- A breakdown of all identified ACMs and their locations.
- An assessment of the condition and risk of each material.
- Guidance on the safe management of asbestos within the property.
- Recommendations for future monitoring and advice should any refurbishment works take place.
As no immediate removal was necessary, the property owners were advised to ensure the ACMs remained in good condition and undisturbed, with periodic inspections to monitor their state.

The survey has successfully :
- Produced a full asbestos register for the property.
- Identified all asbestos-containing materials along with detailed risk assessments.
- Provided clear, prioritised recommendations for the safe management of any ACMs found.
