Commercial Asbestos Management Survey in West Thurrock, Essex

Recently, we conducted an Asbestos Management Survey at a commercial property in West Thurrock, Essex. This survey was conducted with the objective of identifying any ACMs within the property and ensuring that the property is safe for business.

Survey Approach & Findings

Our experienced surveyors carried out a thorough survey of the commercial units, external areas, and accessible structures. In view of the age of the buildings, a number of materials were tested for the presence of asbestos.

Suspected materials were identified in various locations, which are common in commercial and industrial areas. Where necessary, samples were taken in controlled conditions, and the samples were sent to a UKAS-accredited lab for testing to confirm the presence of asbestos.

Recommendations

After conducting the survey and laboratory testing, a comprehensive report on asbestos will be provided to the client that contains:

• Locations and types of identified asbestos-containing material
• Condition and risk level associated with it
• Priority action required for management, encapsulation, and/or removal
• Compliance advice to meet current health and safety and/or asbestos regulations

This will help the operators manage the asbestos risk and provide a safe working environment for their staff and visitors.

Outcome

The survey also helped the client gain a clear understanding of the risks of asbestos on the site, as well as providing recommendations for safe use of the premises.
