Location: Bexley, Kent
Survey Type: Asbestos Management Survey (CAR 2012 Compliance)
Survey Date: 26/09/2025
1. Objective:
We were recently called out to this stunning home in Bexley, Kent, to carry out a domestic asbestos management survey. The homeowners wanted peace of mind before tackling some upcoming decorating and maintenance jobs – and that’s exactly what we delivered!
2. What We Did
Our team carried out a full top-to-bottom inspection of the property, checking all the usual suspects (ceilings, walls, pipework, and outbuildings). A few samples were taken from materials that looked a but suspicious and sent off to a UKAS-accredited lab for testing. The whole process was tidy, efficient, and carried out with minimal disruption to the household.
3. What We Found
- Textured Ceilings: A couple of ceilings contained chrysotile (white asbestos), but everything was in good condition and perfectly safe to leave in place.
- Garage Roof: The garage roof turned out to be made from asbestos cement sheets – pretty common for properties of this age – still solid and watertight.
- Pipe Boxing: We noted some older board materials around pipework that may contain asbestos but were well-sealed and undamaged.
- The good news? No asbestos found in the floor coverings, plaster, or insulation.
Note: The full survey report contains a detailed register with photographs, locations, and specific risk information for each of these materials.
4. Recommendations
We advised the homeowners to simply keep an eye on materials identified and avoid disturbing them. Everything was logged in a clear asbestos register, so if any work is planned in the future, they (or any contractors) know exactly what’s what.
Outcome
Another happy client – and one very relieved homeowner! With a few small checks and a proper management plan in place, they can now continue with their maintenance and decorating projects confidently and safely.
